DESCRIPTION: This one I wanted to be a bit more “serious” or scary really. I used a 3D tracking camera within this pan forward camera movement. I then would choose spots and added a null to them. I got the CGI zombie like creature through Mixamo, and added the animations through that. I then touched it up to look more like a first person view shot and applied layers of other effects.

DESCRIPTION: Once again my friend pulled through for me and did an amazing job with his acting. He really enjoyed the lightning effect I did for him, i pretty much followed the same steps taken from the first Particle video. I changed the coloring but I also added more impact effects with bother visual and auditorial.

DESCRIPTION: This I had a blast with, I asked a friend to make me a video with his hands pulling away as if he had lightning in his hands. He went above and beyond haha. Using two-point tracking so that I can track his hands for the lightning effect. Then because he was outside in bright orange colored area, I masked him, duplicated him and created a blue outline around him called light wrapping to better blend him within the BG I used. I color corrected him, sharpened him and added more lightning to his fingers. The thing that took the longest were his fingers with the light orbs attached to him, I had to manually key each one in. But in the end, it was well worth the work.

DESCRIPTION: This one was actually on the tougher side, as we needed to use a new application called Mocha, which is a more higher end tracking system that is more precise, but it can lose it’s subject and you would need to manually fix it. But I replaced my head with my pets; Sadie. I took it over the phone, which is why the orientation is different. It does need work, as her neck should be under my collar. But the tracking is pretty good for what I had to work with.

DESCRIPTION: This was my first encounter using a tracking system in AE. We would click a point on the field, enable the one-point tracking and connected said data onto a null object. With all that completed I was able to attach text and or an object onto it, making it look like the object was meant to belong there. I again made a scene, smaller scale for a cyberpunk like aesthetic at night with animated videos and a piece of text.

DESCRIPTION: After Effects does have a 3D feature, for you to turn any object into 3D. It is rudimentary, but in the hands of someone with more knowledge you can do quite a bit. I went with a space theme using an HDRI to lighten the shapes, and placed another HDRI as the BG. I also placed in a camera qith additional lighting effects.

DESCRIPTION: This was a follow-up from the Basic Chromakey. I ended taking an astronaut from the same company (ActionVFX) and masked him out. This was difficult as we needed to keep the shadow from the subject. I then did more, by creating my own world within Unreal Engine to batter match him for what I wanted him to belong into. I would then color correct him to match my scene and used the in game camera for the zoom out and layered on a filter to better blend it all together. I did, however, run into a drifting issue with the subject as I didn’t know how to just pin him in place and have the camera continue.

DESCRIPTION: We took footage from ActionVFX and created a short video with masking out the background and putting the subject into another space. This was a fun one, as you need to consider the original light source for the subject. After I masked out the green screen, I found a free BG and adjusted the coloring on him to match for a better seamless blend. I added radial gradation along with a panning out sequence, and a few particle effects to better animated the scene.

DESCRIPTION: We had to make a mini video out of pretty much anything. We needed to tell a story with what we found, along with cutting and clipping together videos to make things more appealing. I like cyberpunk things or anything has anything to do with the future. So mine was more of a commercial like sequence as though saying the future is now, kind of deal. But we needed to have a visual amp, along with some effects that are affected by it (linked to it).

DESCRIPTION: This was an introduction into getting into After Effects with creating visuals without the use of grabbing a free video and overlaying over things. I ended up using my own fottage of past projects within this small introductory video. The text and the effects of the text all were done using AE with filters, layers, and parameters to create appealing effects.
