Description: This was the final project we worked on in Sound, Image, and Motion. For the narrative assignment, I envisioned a romance set in the 1980s. I filmed it over fall break, which gave me time to focus on capturing the right aesthetic for the decade. While I had access to some great set pieces, I didn’t have high-end equipment, so I did my best with the limited tools and knowledge I had at the time. Looking back, I’d love the opportunity to reshoot this piece with a larger crew, better equipment, and the experience I’ve gained since then.

Description: This was probably my favorite of the three projects we completed. I had a clear vision for the documentary and was excited to bring it to life. I also got the chance to use a different camera for filming, and the gimbal helped capture smooth, cinematic shots while walking through the city. Despite shooting at night, the picture quality turned out surprisingly well. Overall, I was really happy with how the project came together. If I were to improve it further, I’d add a third interviewee to offer one more perspective and enrich the narrative.

Description: This was the first assignment in the class and also my first real experience creating a film. At the time, I didn’t have many ideas for an experimental short, and looking back, I’d love the opportunity to revisit and redo this project. While I was never fully satisfied with the final result, the process taught me a lot. The lessons I learned from this assignment have stuck with me and helped shape how I approach filmmaking today.
