Description: For this paper, I chose to compare two modern works of art based on their compositions. I focused on two of my favorite artists, Georges Seurat and Pierre-Auguste Renoir—both renowned French painters from the Impressionist period. From their collections, I selected one work from each artist that depicts a scenic landscape of the River Seine in France. By analyzing their use of composition, color, and brushwork, I was able to explore the unique ways each artist captured the atmosphere and emotion of the same iconic setting.
